Rodd Hotels & Resorts Invest In Yarmouth
Mark Rodd, President & CEO of Rodd Hotels & Resorts recently announced a two million dollar investment in the Rodd Grand Yarmouth Hotel. Renovations are currently underway with a focus on refreshing and modernizing guest rooms, fitness facilities, meeting space and common areas. Renovations will be implemented strategically in phases during nonpeak times to limit any potential interference with guests. "Our guest satisfaction is extremely important to us," says Robert Waite, General Manager. "We want to make sure each guest has a comfortable, quiet and enjoyable stay and will plan our renovations accordingly."
After a positive tourism season due to the new Bay Ferries service, Rodd Management will expand its resources and capital budget for the Rodd Grand Yarmouth Hotel. "As Yarmouth and the entirety of the Maritimes begins to prepare for another busy tourism season, we wanted to take a moment to express the importance and economic impact Bay Ferries, specifically the CAT ferry has on not just Rodd Grand Yarmouth Hotel but, the community of Yarmouth and surrounding areas," states Rodd. "We have been experiencing growth in US visitation at all our locations as a result of the reinstated entry point to Atlantic Canada."
Providing employment for over 80 people in peak season, Rodd Grand Yarmouth prides itself in being a part of the local community. "Our family has a long-standing commitment to the region and wants to see our business grow to assist in the economic development of the community. As much as possible, we try to source our renovations using local companies," adds Rodd. "We want to send our sincere thanks to the Province of Nova Scotia, Canadian Federal Government, State of Maine and the City of Portland for their faith and investment to revitalize the region."
Yarmouth Mayor, Pam Mood states, "The importance of fixed room accommodations cannot be understated in this region. The Rodd Grand continues to be a great corporate citizen, has been a tremendous support to the service Bay Ferries provides, and the economic impact it brings is significant. Renovations to the Rodd Grand Hotel will certainly add to the visitor experience and will play a part in ensuring visitors stay here longer."
Rodd Grand Yarmouth is located on 417 Main St, Yarmouth and is just a short drive from the Bay Ferries Terminal. It is part of the Prince Edward Island-based Rodd Hotels & Resorts chain which consists of seven hotels and resorts throughout Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. This family legacy has spanned over 80 years and has grown from a small collection of cottages in Winsloe, PEI to a multi-province hotel and resort chain.
