Bulletin from the Interim Chair of the NSTA

As part of the development of a five year strategic plan for Nova Scotia tourism, our firm Bluteau DeVenney and Company has been retained by the Nova Scotia Tourism Agency to facilitate the strategic planning process. A key component of that process is the gathering of perspectives from those stakeholders in the sector – whether private industry, government, supporting associations, etc. The process will have three key components - the gathering of information, sifting and synthesizing of data, feedback for trends and themes, and the development of the plan and resulting action items required to achieve success in the future.

Dear partners, Much has happened since our last bulletin was published, and I’d like to update you on the progress that we have been making.  The TIANS conference was a wonderful opportunity to have an initial conversation with you, our industry members, about the steps we have been taking towards developing a long-term strategy for tourism, and to hear your thoughts on where the future of tourism in Nova Scotia lies.

TIANS Recognizes Excellence in Tourism!

On November 29th the Tourism Industry Association of Nova Scotia (TIANS) hosted the 2011 Crystal Tourism Awards as the grand finale to the Annual Tourism Summit – the Tourism Connection.
Nine Crystal Tourism Awards of Excellence were presented to individuals and organizations that have excelled in their particular category. The winners this year were:
