TIANS Remains Optimistic Regarding Ferry Service

TIANS is encouraged by the update from the provincial government regarding ferry service between Yarmouth and the United States.

“The marine link from the United States into Southwest Nova Scotia is integral for the economic prosperity of the entire province,” says Scott MacAulay, TIANS Chairman. “Knowing that a solution is one step closer will allow many businesses to focus on tourism and trade for the 2014 season.”

TIANS has been advocating for the return of a ferry service since the CAT’s final voyage in April 2010. “The US market is one of the most lucrative in the world,” says MacAulay. “In moving forward there needs to be a strategic focus on recapturing that market.”

Working with partner associations and stakeholders, TIANS is committed to representing the best interests of the Industry; enhancing and supporting the development of a competitive business environment; advocating on issues critical to the industry's success; and most importantly, leading Nova Scotia's most promising economic sector.
