INDUSTRY BEST PRACTICES WHITE PAPER

Visitors have increasingly high expectations and businesses are faced with the challenge of differentiating themselves in a competitive market. TANS offered our campground operators a special business building opportunity designed to assist in enhancing business operations.  Throughout June 2011 we provided 20 operators with the opportunity to receive a FREE 4-hour mentoring session at your own location with the leading expert in the North American campground sector!

With over 40 years in the campground industry, Linda Profaizer is a recognized leader in the campground and RV sector. She worked for over 30 years in senior management and as President with Woodall’s Publishing - an established leader in the Campground Directory and marketing business.  Between 2000 and 2010, Linda was the President and CEO of the National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds, overseeing marketing and quality initiatives for over 3700 campgrounds across North America.

Participants spent time looking at the specific challenges of their operations and received practical advice, tips and strategies on how to overcome barriers in business and become more profitable.  Participants received a tailored report outlining current sector trends and suggestions for implementation of small changes that can make a significant impact on your bottom line.

The adventure tourism and outdoor experiential market continues to be a growth sector in Nova Scotia’s tourism industry.  The province offers a number of exceptional campgrounds, however the market is changing and in order to be successful, operators must adapt.

A full report of the best practices were compiled into an Industry Whitepaper, and we are now pleased to make it available all TIANS Members and industry peer.
