Education, training and public awareness are seen as essential for implementing and promoting sustainable tourism development. TIANS plays a lead role in informing tourism operators about sustainable practices, which they can implement to remain competitive internationally.

TIAC released their much anticipated Green Your Business Toolkit for tourism operators on November 4, 2008. The new publication, a collaborative effort between CTC, Parks Canada and TIAC, gives Canadian travel business owners tips and practical advice.
