Tians reacts to ferry announcement
TIANS is disappointed with the announcement that there will be no ferry service from Nova Scotia to the United States in 2013. “Although the government has announced a new procurement process with a focus on service for 2014, this is disappointing news for all of us especially those operators directly impacted in the southwest region hoping a solution would be found this year,” says Scott MacAulay, TIANS Chair.
“TIANS will continue to advocate and support this process as it moves forward and hopefully results in the right ferry with the right business model to help us build tourism and trade from the United States - one of the most lucrative and important markets in the world,” says MacAulay.
Access continues to be a major policy issue impeding tourism growth for Nova Scotia.
Working with partner associations and stakeholders, TIANS is committed to representing the best interests of the Industry; enhancing and supporting the development of a competitive business environment; advocating on issues critical to the industry's success; and most importantly, leading Nova Scotia's most promising economic sector.
